இந்திரஜித்தின் பிரம்மாஸ்திரத்திற்கு அனுமன் ஏன் தலை வணங்கினான்?

இராமாயணத்தில், இந்திரஜித்தின் மிக வலிமையான பிரம்மாஸ்திரத்திற்கு அனுமன் கட்டுப்பட்டுத் தலைவணங்கியதன் பின்னணியில் மிக ஆழமான, சுவாரசியமான காரணங்கள் உள்ளன. கம்பராமாயணம் மற்றும் வால்மீகி இராமாயணத்தின்படி இதற்கான முக்கிய காரணங்கள்:

1. பிரம்மதேவரின் வரமும் மரியாதையும்

அனுமனுக்குப் பிரம்மதேவர் முன்னரே ஒரு வரம் அளித்திருந்தார். அதன்படி, பிரம்மாஸ்திரம் உள்ளிட்ட எந்தவொரு தெய்வீக அஸ்திரத்தாலும் அனுமனை வதம் செய்ய முடியாது.

இருப்பினும், பிரம்மாஸ்திரம் என்பது உலகைப் படைத்த பிரம்மனின் மிக உயரிய ஆயுதமாகும். அதற்குரிய வல்லமையையும், படைப்புக் கடவுளான பிரம்மனின் பெருமையையும் உலகிற்கு உணர்த்த வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக அனுமன் அதற்கு மதிப்பளித்தார். தான் நினைத்திருந்தால் அதை எளிதாகத் தவிர்த்திருக்கலாம், ஆனால் *பிரம்மாஸ்திரத்தின் ஆற்றலுக்கு மதிப்புக் கொடுத்து, அதற்குத் தலைவணங்கித் தன்னைத் தானே கட்டிக்கொள்ள அனுமதித்தார்.*

 2. இராவணனைச் சந்திக்கும் தந்திரம்

அனுமன் அசோக வனத்தை அழித்து, அசுரப் படைகளைத் துவம்சம் செய்த பின்னர், இராவணனை நேருக்கு நேர் சந்திக்க விரும்பினார். அசுரர்களின் தலைவனான இராவணனிடம் நேரடியாகச் சென்று சீதையை விடுவிக்குமாறு தூது உரைப்பதே அவரது முக்கிய நோக்கமாக இருந்தது.

அனுமனை சாதாரணமாக இராவணனின் சபைக்கு இழுத்துச் செல்வது அசுரர்களால் இயலாத காரியம் என்பதை அனுமன் அறிவார். எனவே, இந்திரஜித் பிரம்மாஸ்திரத்தைப் பிரயோகித்தபோது, அதற்கு உடன்பட்டுக் கட்டுண்டது போல நடித்தார். இதன் மூலம், அவர்கள் தன்னைத் தளைப்படுத்தி இராவணனின் அரசவைக்குக் கொண்டு செல்வார்கள் என்ற தந்திர உத்தியை அனுமன் கையாண்டார்.

கம்பராமாயணச் சான்று:

அசுரர்கள் பிரம்மாஸ்திரத்தால் கட்டப்பட்ட அனுமனை, மேலும் உறுதியாக்க சாதாரண கயிறுகளாலும் மரப்பட்டைகளாலும் கட்டத் தொடங்கினர். அவ்வாறு வேறு சாதாரணக் கட்டுகளால் கட்டிய கணமே பிரம்மாஸ்திரத்தின் சக்தி விலகிவிடும் என்ற விதி உண்டு. அதன்படி பிரம்மாஸ்திரத்தின் கட்டு உடனே விலகிய போதிலும், இராவணனைச் சந்திப்பதற்காக அனுமன் தொடர்ந்து கட்டுண்டது போலவே நடித்துச் சபைக்குச் சென்றார்.

சுருக்கமாகக் கூறின், பிரம்மனின் படைப்புக்குக் கொடுத்த மரியாதையும், இராவணனைச் சந்தித்துத் தூது உரைக்க அனுமன் வகுத்த தந்திரமுமே அவர் பிரம்மாஸ்திரத்திற்குத் தலைவணங்கியதற்குக் காரணங்கள் ஆகும்.

Why did Hanuman bow down to Indrajit's Brahmastra?

In the Ramayana, Hanuman’s decision to bow down and allow himself to be bound by Indrajit’s Brahmastra (the ultimate cosmic weapon created by Lord Brahma) was not a sign of defeat. Instead, it was a master class in deep spiritual respect and brilliant military strategy.

Here are the two primary reasons why Hanuman chose to surrender to the weapon:

1. Absolute Respect for Lord Brahma

Hanuman possessed a divine boon given by Lord Brahma himself, which made him entirely immune to the ultimate destructive powers of the Brahmastra. He could have easily resisted or shattered its binding energy.

However, Hanuman realized that if he fought back and neutralized the weapon, it would look like he was insulting or defying the authority of Lord Brahma. To honour the creator of the universe and keep the sanctity of Brahma's power intact, Hanuman chose to bow his head and willingly accept its binding force.

2. A Strategic Way to Meet Ravana

Hanuman had a hidden agenda. He had already found Sita, but he wanted to assess the strength of Lanka’s defences and look at his enemy face-to-face.

He knew that the only way to get a direct audience with the demon king Ravana was to let himself be captured. By yielding to the Brahmastra, he allowed Indrajit to drag him directly into Ravana's royal court as a prisoner, fulfilling his mission as a master diplomat and spy.

The Loophole that Freed Hanuman According to the laws of the weapon, the Brahmastra only remains active if the target is not bound by any other physical means. Out of fear, the demon soldiers rushed to tie Hanuman with ordinary ropes. The moment the ropes touched him, the divine spell of the Brahmastra was instantly broken. Hanuman was technically free, but he kept pretending to be bound just to reach Ravana's throne room!
